Representatives from the Museum of the Atlantic will chat about the ‘Days of Sail’. What was it like to be a sailor then? Try the food, the hammocks, and what if you were ill/injured, punished? How were sails, fish nets and lobster traps made? What were ‘Powder Monkeys’? Try sending a signal message. How do boats sail? Find out about the chaloupe. Hire a kayak and explore the local waters.
Listen to sea shanties and accordion music and hear John Spyder Macdonald sing and tell of a fisherman’s life in days gone by.
Ship model -makers will be here too- their skills must NOT be missed.
