During your visit don't forget to have someone take your picture at the original survey marker for Stewiacke "halfway between the Equator and the North Pole."

Ideally located just 35 minutes from the Burnside Industrial Park, 45 minutes from the heart of Halifax, 25 minutes from the Halifax International Airport, and 20 minutes from the town of Truro. Stewiacke is a potential hub area for industrial and residential growth rated the fastest growing municipality per capita in the province.

Stewiacke located in the center of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada at the entrance to the beautiful Stewiacke valley where Indian trails crossed both the Stewiacke and Shubenacadie Rivers.

Surrounded by natural recreational resources, the tourist attractions are numerous. Picnic areas are available at the Stewiacke River park (5 miles) and the surrounding area is excellent for those interested in fishing, hunting, canoeing, bird - watching and scenic drives (especially in the Fall).

The rivers of Stewiacke

The Stewiacke River is unique in that it has been one of the three top salmon producing rivers in the province for several years.  An extra bonus attraction is the view from the Cadell Rapids Look off (6 miles) where the tidal waters from the Bay of Fundy travel up the Shubenacadie River.
