
The Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival is a celebration of Nova Scotia's provincial berry occurring throughout the central region of Nova Scotia. From Amherst to Truro, Parrsboro to Tatamagouche, Wentworth Valley to the Stewiacke Valley, communities throughout central Nova Scotia will celebrate the wild blueberry harvest from August 15th, 2008 - August 30th, 2008.
Events include live music, theatre, wild blueberry art exhibits, dances, farmers markets, teas, community suppers, pancake breakfasts, baking competitions, bake sales, quilt sales, pie eating contests, a 10km race, golf tournaments, a blueberry mash, exhibitions and more!!!
Nova Scotia is the largest processor of wild blueberries in the world and is the second largest producer on earth (2nd only to Maine). The wild blueberry is also renowned for its health benefits having the highest levels of antioxidants of all fruits and vegetables!
The central region of Nova Scotia, specifically, has long been known for its abundance of wild blueberries and looks forward to sharing them with you.
