CNTA Member Services

Who is CNTA?

CNTA is made up of volunteers from all over the Central Nova Scotia Region. They set aside some of their time to help ensure that everybody benefits from the work done by CNTA.

CNTA is also a group of members that belong to the organization to gain the benefits that go with it. To apply online click to the member application page.

There is a Board of Directors, a Technology Committee, and a Marketing Committee.

Day to day operations are administered by the Executive Director Joyce Mingo, Marketing Coordinator Devin Trefry and Administrative Assistant Jo-Ann Sagar.


CNTA aims to responsibly and positively contribute to the Central Nova area becoming the most important tourist destination in Nova Scotia, resulting in new tourism initiatives and strengthened businesses. We will accomplish this by working as a team dedicated to effective communication and promotion of our community.

By becoming a member of CNTA, you belong to an active organization that has the strength of an Association, recognized officially by government as one of the seven Area Tourist Associations in Nova Scotia.

  • Members are offered first opportunity to participate in familiarization product knowledge tours.
  • Members receive first choice in visitor/tourist referrals. It is difficult to recommend non-members since we do not know their businesses.
  • Members are represented and promoted in the CNTA Tourist Bureau networks and at the NS-NB Border VIC.
  • Member information can be scanned and sent by e-mail.
  • CNTA maintains an office and communication centre year round which includes an advertised 1-800 number, e-mail address, fax, etc. Visitor inquiries are received from all over the world and fulfilled on an on-going basis promoting CNTA members.
  • Members have access to joint cost shared promotions, advertising, and training programs.
  • Financial assistance is available to festivals and events, which are members of CNTA.
  • Assistance (research, statistics, supporting documentation, and contact support) is available to members in dealing with government programs and accessing grants.
  • CNTA members receive special rates for our annual conference.
  • CNTA members receive a special advertising rate in the Sunrise/Glooscap Visitor's Guide.
  • CNTA members receive special rates in regards to links and advertising and a free listing on our website and interactive kiosks.
  • CNTA members receive our regular newsletter and are invited to use it to distribute information to our general membership.
  • Members become part of an information and networking system within CNTA and the Tourism Industry provincially, nationally and internationally.
  • CNTA maintains close liaison with other Tourism organizations, government, and government agencies on behalf of its members.
