Overview

The CNTA Annual Awards provide an opportunity for our industry to recognize the tourism leaders in Northern Nova Scotia.

The site awards (Food and Beverage, Festival and Events, Attraction, Campground, Accommodation and Gift Shop) are intended to recognize operations/events that add significantly to the tourism product in the CNTA area and whose quality of operations represent the standards that those of us in the industry aspire to.

Site Awards

Factors that may be considered in determining award winners include such issues as:

  • Significance of the operation/event as a tourism draw to the area
  • Uniqueness
  • Impact of the operation or event on seasonality
  • Special emphasis placed on positive feedback received on the operation through such sources as provincial / regional VIC's, the CNTA office, and the Department of Tourism
  • Importance of the operation/event and its owners/operators in supporting tourism development in the area

The Individual/Ambassador Award

This award is intended to go to an individual who, by example, represents the spirit of hospitality CNTA is trying to promote. Nominees for this award can be recognized for specific action(s) or for ongoing activities within or without the CNTA region that help promote our reputation of hospitality.

The President's Award

This award is intended to recognize an individual who has contributed significantly to tourism development in the area. An individual whose leadership and whose commitment of time and energy merits special recognition from his/her peers in the tourism industry.

The SuperHost Customer Service Award

This award is intended to recognize a front-line employee whose exceptional customer service contributed to an outstanding travel experience for one of our visitors. Nominees must be a graduate from a SuperHost Workshop. In your nomination, please describe an incident involving the nominee that makes you believe that they should be awarded the SuperHost Customer Service Award.

General

The above factors are not intended to be the exclusive criteria used in determining award winners but are indicative of the type of issues considered.

Note: It is not required that nominees be members of the Central Nova Tourist Association.

Nomination Preparation and Submission

The awards should be representative of an individual or business that contributes to the Central Nova Region being recognized as a. destination point for tourists. In your nomination, please indicate why you believe that your nominee should receive such an award. Include as much information as you can.
