Site Requirements

Thank you for visiting Central Nova Scotia. This section provides information on our Web site's optimum viewing requirements.

Central Nova Scotia is not responsible for any hardware or software problems resulting from the installation of third party tools, including Web browsers, plug-ins, or other suggested downloads.

Browser Requirements

To make the most of your visit, make sure you are using one of the browsers shown below. You’ll find information on Recommended, Minimum Requirement, and Not Supported browsers.

Please note that using a Not Supported Browser may cause some of our Web site features and online services to not operate correctly.

PCs Using Internet Explorer

  • Recommended - Internet Explorer 6.0, Service Pack 1
  • Not Supported - Internet Explorer 5.5 or below

Macintosh Computers Using Internet Explorer

  • Not Supported - Internet Explorer (all versions)

Note: Effective December 31, 2005, Microsoft ended all support for Internet Explorer for Mac, and no longer provides security or performance updates. We no longer support use of this browser for Mac.

PCs & Linux Computers Using Firefox

  • Recommended - Firefox 1.5
  • Minimum Requirement - Firefox Beta

Macintosh Computers Using Safari

  • Recommended & Minimum Requirement - Safari 1.0
  • Not Supported - Safari Beta

Using Pop-Up Windows

Some of our online services use "pop-up" windows to provide you with all the information you’ll need to complete your transaction. If you have third party pop-up blocker software installed on your computer, or have your Web browser set to block pop-ups, you’ll need to disable (uncheck) this option. If you have it set to block, you may find that some of our online services will not work for you.

If you’re using the latest version of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox, then they have a pop-up blocker enabled. Also, third-party toolbars such as Yahoo, Google, etc. also contain a pop-up blocker that may be enabled and preventing some of our content to appear.
